Pilates and Yoga - Lose Weight, Increase Flexiblity and Get into Shape...

Pilates - Make It An Important Addition To Your Cardio And Weight Training Regime
Did you know that the Pilates Method was developed in the early 20th century, in Germany, by Joseph Pilates? He first called his method the “Art of Contrology” because of the focus required in complete control of muscles with the mind. The simple idea of Pilates exercise is targeted towards improving the total body by conditioning your core strength and toning the abdominal muscle groups. All of this is based on developing better breathing habits, while improving your posture and learning to use your mental concentration and focus from within

Pilates Equipment: The Basics
Pilates, is nothing without its equipment, from the simple mat to the complicated trapeze, Pilates Equipment is very integral to the program itself. Pilate equipment is what produces the resistance that your muscles overcome, and these resistances are what make your core strong. Here is an overview of the basic Pilates Equipment

Common Types of Yoga - What Is The Difference
What is the difference between common yoga and the not so common yoga, nothing only one is practiced on a wider scale than the other. It is up to each individual and their preferences to what form of exercise they choose to practise. Some common types of yoga are performed by people for health reasons.

The Basics of Pilates Exercise
If you're highly informed or even if you're one of those people that just stay home, no doubt you've heard of the Pilates Exercise. Pilates Exercises sometimes used an acronym for Proximal Integrating Latent Agile Toning Exercise; it aims to stretch and to strengthen your body that is why most contortionists and ballet dancers get into it. But just because people are taking it for physical improvement, and weight loss, it doesn't mean that a Pilates exercise is a cardiovascular exercise. Pilates is basically a low intensity exercise, but you could still exert a bit, but not like how much you exert during an aerobics class. Most instructors recommend Pilates with aerobics and other forms of exercise for best effects.

Yoga in the Office: A quick and effective stretch
It's great when we can escape to a full hour of yoga, be it in a class or at home in front of a video, but let's face it, that's not always possible. Enter Yoga in the Office, a series of simple but effective suggested positions to help stretch the wrists, neck, shoulders, back and legs.
Always talk to your doctor before starting any new exercise regime.

Learn breathing... the yoga way
With the ever-increasing incidence of lifestyle diseases like cardio-vascular and nervous system disorders, the time has come for us to address this ourselves, fair and square WITHOUT external dependence.

Sun Salutation Yoga
Surya namaskara is a series of twelve physical postures. These alternating backward and forward bending postures flex and stretch the spinal column through their maximum range giving a profound stretch to the whole body. Often, after a hard days work, we would just flop down on the couch * apparently * relaxing our bodies - but it is NOT so. The stagnant energies remain locked up and the organs remain de-oxygenated to a large extent. Surya Namaskar has a deep effect in detoxifying the organs through copius oxygenation and has a deeper relaxing effect.
